PRESS

“The high quality of the playing and extensive nature of the solos as well each pieces compositional development come as no surprise.”- Ron Wynn, Nashville Scene

“a versatile, risk-taking progressive jazz drummer…”
-Jonathan Widran, JAZZIZ

It is truly progressive and fundamentally jazzand a reason to be excited about the continuing evolution of jazz in Music City. Sean Maloney, Nashville Scene

Her new album Secrets of the Shore is fantastic and lush – in the vein of. Miles with Gil Evans or Maria Schneider. Complex but not out there or overly dissonant. The horn charts are just gorgeous. But live, oh wow I was floored. I don’t know where she found these young hotshots, but man the talent in this town is crazy.- Craig Havighurst, award-winning music journalist.

Her first album Myriad of Flowers was nominated by NIMA for Best Jazz Album. Her second album, Secrets of the Shore, won Best Jazz Album of 2023 by the Nashville Scene, was featured in JAZZIZ, and received 4 stars in DownBeat. Her upcoming album, Receptive, produced by Pascal Le Boeuf, will be out in 2024. Goodman has also received a nomination for Best Jazz Instrumentalist by NIMA and won the Pathways to Jazz Grant and the CMA Performance Plus Grant. She has been described as a “risk-taking, progressive jazz drummer” by multiple press sources. She is also an educator, mentor, and advocate for women in jazz.

ABOUT SMITHFIELD

Rooted in stunning harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, Trey Smith and Jenn Fielder collectively known as SmithField, are a modern country duo inspired by one of country musics longstanding legacies: the male-female duet. Smithfield hails from a small town in Texas, where they met at the age of 10, and their families go back 3 generations. Since moving to music city, their song Hey Whiskey a Sirius XM radio highway find in 2018 launched the duo into critically acclaimed artists that Rollingstone, Billboard, People, and Forbes have all raved about and called the ones to watch in country music. The band has amassed independently more than 100 million global streams, has over 40 Grand Ole Opry performances to date, and is set to release their first debut album Country with Heart (Part One) May 24th, 2024. Smithfield has opened for some of country musics biggest acts such as Old Dominion, Kane Brown, Brothers Osborn, and Morgan Wallen, and even country legends Joe Nichols, Josh Turner, Diamond Rio, and Sara Evans, to name a few.
