Southern Rounds, Nashville’s PREMIERE writer round, closes 2024 on a high with a very special show in December. Joining host Dave Kennedy on stage will be Bowen * Young (featuring Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young), hit songwriter Phillip Lammonds, who has just been nominated for a GRAMMY, and songwriter Charlie Argo!
BOWEN * YOUNG, the Nashville-based musical duo comprising of Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young, have embarked on an enchanting journey that seamlessly weaves the fates of two extraordinary souls. Clare, a radiant star from rural Australia known for her role as Scarlett on the hit TV series “Nashville,” and Brandon, a melody-spinner from Connecticut, found their destinies entwined in the heart of Nashville. Their musical odyssey began in 2013 when Brandon, a last-minute replacement, shared the stage with Clare at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The unique chemistry discovered that night marked the inception of a musical partnership destined for prominence. Two years later, love took center stage at Ryman Auditorium, where Brandon proposed, and in 2017, John Carter Cash officiated their union at the Cash Cabin. Their collaborative journey, guided by acclaimed Americana songwriter/producer Sean McConnell, resulted in the creation of ‘Us,’ a 10-track masterpiece capturing the raw essence of their emotions. PHILLIP LAMMONDS, a seasoned songwriter, possesses a remarkable ability to transform life’s ordinary moments into soulful, poetic perfection, infusing his work with grit and authenticity through clever phrasing and just-right melodies. After college, Lammonds co-founded The Blue Dogs, where he honed his songwriting skills while noticing the impact of certain songs on audiences during their nationwide performances. Recognizing his unique talent, legendary songwriter and mentor Paul Craft became Lammonds’ guiding force, teaching him the fundamentals of technique and the business of songwriting. After fifteen years, fifty or so trips to Nashville, and cuts on major artists —Hootie and the Blowfish, Josh Turner, Craig Morgan — Phillip moved to Music City to pursue songwriting full time. He stepped onto the scene with a publishing deal from Curb Entertainment and a back catalog of nearly five hundred songs strong. Phillip’s songs have been recorded by artists like LEE BRICE, JERROD NIEMANN, DARIUS RUCKER, BLAKE SHELTON, EDWIN MCCAIN, CRAIG MORGAN, KELLIE PICKLER, MO PITNEY, and DYLAN. It has been a stellar year for Lammonds, releasing his debut album Cowboy Things to critical acclaim, he made his debut on the Opry stage and has earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Bluegrass Album.
