Southern Rounds brings an intimate night of stories, songs, and the personal moments that inspired some of country music’s biggest hits at ANALOG in Nashville on Wednesday, September 16.
Acclaimed songwriters Sonia Leigh, Jeff Middleton, Vinnie Paolizzi, and Keller Cox take the stage for an up-close, unforgettable evening that goes beyond the music. Hear the stories behind songs recorded by Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Muscadine Bloodline, The Castellows, and more—as the writers who lived them share the inspiration, creative process, unexpected turns, and defining moments that brought each song to life.
SONIA LEIGH
Grounded in the intimate tradition of storytelling, Sonia Leigh’s music demands immediate attention. With an uncompromised eye, Leigh pairs striking vulnerability with a visceral, prolific lyrical tapestry. Backed by an acclaimed catalogue, her evocative performances cement her status as a timeless architect of song.
As an independent recording artist and BMG songwriter, Leigh masterfully fuses Americana, country, rock, and soul into a fearless, genre-crossing style. She first captured the national spotlight with her debut album 1978 December on Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Records, establishing a decorated trajectory that includes penning two massive #1 hits for the Zac Brown Band: “Goodbye In Her Eyes” and “Sweet Annie.” A proven force on stage and screen, her songs have been recorded by multiple artists and featured across film, television, sports, and video games, while her extensive touring history includes sharing stages with legendary icons like Loretta Lynne, Willie Nelson, Melissa Etheridge, and Joan Jett. Her latest full-length album, Songs About Ghosts, marks a powerful, deeply resonant return to her country and Americana roots, further solidifying her enduring impact as a defining contemporary artist.
JEFF MIDDLETON
Originally from New Jersey, singer/songwriter Jeff Middleton moved to Nashville over twenty years ago to build a career in the music business. He was a member of the critically acclaimed Warner Music recording artist Dirt Drifters and has performed across the country and internationally with Chely Wright and Josh Thompson. In addition to spending time on the road and stage, Jeff has been a staff songwriter for Liz Rose Music and Stage Three Music. Over the past two decades, Jeff’s songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, Morgan Wallen, Jordan Davis and Trace Adkins. He was nominated for CMA Song of the Year for “Drowns the Whiskey”, a multi-week #1 on country radio for Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert. The song was recently certified by the RIAA as a platinum-selling single.
VINNIE PAOLIZZI
A Nashvillian by way of Philadelphia, Vinnie Paolizzi has spent the better part of the last decade in the songwriting trenches, making a name for himself as a rising singer-songwriter to watch. Produced by Mike Harris (Old Crow Medicine Show, Noah Kahan, Brent Cobb). Vinnie released his self-titled debut album in 2023 and his new collections “Spaghetti Western Volume I” in early 2025 and “Volume II” in October 2025. His songs have also been recorded by Muscadine Bloodline, Ben Chapman, Tyler Halverson, Thomas Csorba, Colby Acuff, Mackenzie Porter, Gabe Lee, Cole Phillips, and featured on Amazon’s “Off Campus.” He also stars in the upcoming documentary “Ten Year Town” with eight other premier songwriters.
KELLER COX
Keller Cox is a Texas singer-songwriter rooted in the storytelling tradition of Texas Country. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Construction Science, Keller turned down a career in the industry to pursue music full-time. Since then, he’s opened for artists including Willie Nelson, Flatland Cavalry, Josh Abbott, William Clark Green, Corey Kent, and The Castellows, while earning cuts including Alex Lambert’s “Stroll” and William Clark Green’s “Cowtown.” This year, his song “Way Things Work,” recorded by The Castellows, placed second in the International Songwriting Competition. Keller makes regular trips to Nashville to write and continues to build his career around one simple idea: chase the feeling that makes a song unforgettable.
