This Halloween we celebrate New Wave by recreating shows from the legendary 1982 & 1983 Us Festival. Focused on synth-pop, new romantic, goth, Brit soul, ska, experimental pop, punk, and dance beats, we’ll take you on a musical trek from the UK to New York City to Los Angeles to Sydney with a couple of stops in Athens, Akron, Milwaukee, and San Francisco. If you love the frenetic energy of the best of the 80s, this is the night for you!

Dominated by garage bands, small labels, & innovative artists driven to be different on the world stage, the collective New Wave styles at the US festivals have had a long-lasting influence on pop music. It was a period when ‘selling out’ was ridiculed. Sex, drugs, style, & rebellion were often the motivation. Major labels were often seen as enemies. Corporate ties were fairly non-existent. The bands were truly innovative and the music was wild.

Join us as a large collective of session and touring musicians and singers plus special guests who’ve worked with everyone from Simon LeBon to Sting to Ricky Martin to SmashMouth to Todd Rundgren to Ian Astbury to Colin Hay and countless others seamlessly shift from garage band to synth band to New Wave mini-orchestra including guitars, synthesizers, marimba, saxes, percussion, electronics, and horns over the course of two giant sets to perform everything that birthed & defined New Wave.
