Mattie Pruitt never wasted a moment. From the time she realized music was her calling, she pursued it relentlessly—long before she was old enough to drive. Growing up in the small town of Eagleville, Tennessee, she went from a quiet life in a community of fewer than 1,000 people to captivating millions around the world with her voice.
Known for her powerhouse range, authenticity, and magnetic presence, Mattie has quickly emerged as one of the most compelling young artists of her generation. At just 16, the Tennessee-born singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist continues to build momentum with a slate of new music slated for 2026.
“I hope people walk away feeling wanted,” Mattie says. “If you know your worth, nobody else’s opinions can hurt you. I just want to share confidence and positive energy.”
Raised in a close-knit family with twelve siblings, music became her refuge early on. She grew up singing “At Last” by Etta James with her mother, and soon immersed herself in vocal, piano, and guitar training. Influenced by artists like Adele, Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton, Rihanna, and Jessie Murph, Mattie developed a versatile sound rooted in emotion and soul.
After performing locally and building an online following through viral covers—including Andra Day’s “Rise Up”—Mattie caught the attention of American Idol and earned an audition in Nashville. In 2025, she advanced to the finals, finishing as a Top 7 finalist, becoming the youngest contestant to reach that milestone. Her performances drew praise from outlets such as American Songwriter and Country Now, which highlighted her “impressive vocals and star power.”
Following her breakout on Idol, Mattie began collaborating with acclaimed producers Stephen Kirk and Jenna Andrews (BTS, Jessie Murph, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Sabrina Carpenter, Drake), refining a signature style that blends pop, country, and R&B with raw emotion and confidence.
Her 2026 single “Hit The Road” showcases that evolution, pairing bold hooks with emotionally driven storytelling and a commanding vocal performance. Inspired by the melody of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” the track captures Mattie’s growing confidence as both a songwriter and storyteller.
